Dolphins, Dolphins, Dolphins!

I was on watch.  Mom was asleep down below and Dad was at the navigation station.  I heard a splash.  At first I thought it was a wave but then I heard a lot more.  I looked and there were dolphins everywhere.  “Dolphins!  Common Dolphins!” I yelled to Dad.  I asked if I could go up to the bow.  He said, “Sure as long as you clip in”.  I went up to the bow and watched the dolphins surf both port and starboard.  There were hundreds of them around.  I saw a white one jump completely out of the water.  The dolphins weaved back and forth with each other.  The dolphins looked as if they were weaving, with their noses as needles. They also looked like jet airplanes leaving a condensation path of bubbles. I sat on the bow and watched them for a while until they moved on.  I don’t think I will ever get tired of watching dolphins.  They are some of the smartest creatures on earth.  I’m looking forward to seeing more of them over the next two years.

Sorry I didn’t get a photo.  I will next time..

Thanks for the post Dante. What an amazing experience. How are watches for you? How are the math contracts?

Watches aren’t bad. Sometimes they get boring, but it’s not like I’m going to die of boredom.
The math contracts are radical!!!! I think they are fun to do and a good way to learn math. Thanks so much for making my math fun.

That’s so cool! It must have been amazing to see so many of them swimming next to your boat.
